MailerLite Pricing 2026: What Changed & What You’ll Pay

MailerLite keeps its pricing fairly simple, but a recent overhaul has changed both what you pay and what you get at each tier. As of August 2026, MailerLite’s Free plan supports up to 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails per month, while paid plans start at $12/month for Comfort and $25/month for Power. Larger businesses with 200,000+ subscribers can move to the custom-priced Enterprise plan.

These tiers reflect MailerLite’s broader 2025–2026 pricing overhaul, which introduced new plan names, higher prices, and tighter Free-plan limits.

MailerLite still positions itself toward the more affordable end of the email marketing market, particularly for startups, creators, and small teams. Comfort adds features such as 24/7 email support, multiple user seats, templates, automation tools, and dynamic content, while Power expands on this with unlimited users, more advanced automation, and live chat support.

There’s also a nonprofit discount (30%) for eligible organizations, which can significantly reduce long-term costs on paid plans. MailerLite’s Power plan customers can additionally qualify for a 15% Google Workspace perk, adding another small benefit beyond the core subscription.

What Changed in MailerLite’s Pricing (2025–2026)

MailerLite gave its pricing structure a fairly substantial shake-up in 2026. The biggest visible change is the naming: Growing Business is now Comfort, while Advanced is now Power. Existing paid accounts were moved to the new plans at their next renewal dates, while manual plan changes after June 16 moved users onto the new structure immediately.

The rename also came with higher prices. Depending on your plan and subscriber count, monthly rates have increased by roughly 10–30%. At the entry level, the old Growing Business plan started at $10/month versus $12/month for Comfort, while Advanced started at $20/month compared with $25/month for Power.

At 1,000 subscribers, the jump is even steeper: $15 to $19 for Comfort and $30 to $39 for Power.

*MailerLite had already reduced the Free plan to 500 subscribers before the June 2026 update, so 1,000 → 250 reflects the older Free-plan allowance rather than a single overnight cut. The June 2026 change itself reduced the then-current limit from 500 to 250 subscribers while cutting monthly sends from 12,000 to 2,500.

There is some give-and-take here. MailerLite unlocked additional features on the Free and Comfort plans, but the new limits make the free tier considerably tighter for anyone building an audience. Once you cross 250 active subscribers or 2,500 monthly emails, sending is paused until you reduce usage or upgrade.

Comparative reporting

After recent cuts, the free plan got pretty much slaughtered – it now supports up to 250 subscribers and 2,500 monthly emails (instead of 500 subscribers and 12,000 monthly email sends), landing pages got reduced to 1 instead of the previous cap of 10, and automations are now limited to only 3 active automations – enough to run real email marketing tests, not campaigns.

But you get a surprisingly intuitive drag-and-drop editor and subject line generator (at limited capacity), simple segmentation, and basic reporting. Best of all, no credit card is required, so you can try the platform with zero commitment.

Where it falls short:

  • Stuck with just two user accounts
  • Only basic automation (forget complex workflows), limited to 3 active workflows
  • Limited segmentation capabilities
  • Email support isn’t included (you’re on your own)

While the free plan is great and all, you’ll hit walls pretty quick if your team grows or your campaigns get more sophisticated. You don’t get access to all pre-made templates, use multiple automation triggers and popups are pretty much off-limits. It’s perfect for solo operators or super small teams testing the waters, but you’ll eventually want more.

The Comfort plan starts at $12/month and delivers good value, unlocking all the features most growing businesses rely on without unnecessary upsells.

For starters, MailerLite’s paid plan lets you send up to 10 times your purchased contact limit in emails each month, supports up to three users, and unlocks advanced automation, AI tools, full templates, and unlimited audience management for running regular campaigns. Plus Facebook Custom Audiences (or Meta Audiences) integration works surprisingly well, which can also be said about its Smart Sending feature.

Comfort plan is a solid choice if you’re ready to level up and need landing pages, blog posts, non-branded emails, and reliable tools to track performance. In short, it’s well-suited for businesses that are gaining traction and need the right tools to keep that momentum going.

The downsides:

  • No live chat support when you need instant help
  • Custom reporting is off the table
  • No multiple automation triggers
  • Active automations are limited to 50

Starting at $25/month, the Power Plan is where MailerLite really flexes, including unlimited email sends subject to its fair use policy. You get everything from the Comfort tier plus dynamic content blocks for personalization, click maps to see exactly where people engage, and much more sophisticated automation workflows with additional triggers and automation steps.

The unlimited user seats are perfect for marketing teams or ecommerce businesses that sell digital products & bookings and agencies that need collaboration features. The segmentation gets much more granular,  you can test both subject lines AND content to optimize performance. You can also use custom IPs for greater control over your sending reputation, and monetize your newsletter directly with paid subscriptions and other revenue-generating features.

Email delivery is noticeably faster, and you can request a dedicated IP if deliverability is crucial for your business.

What’s missing:

  • Lacks AI-based segmentation and predictive insights
  • Dedicated IP (paid add-on)
  • No dedicated account manager for strategy help

The crème de la crème of MailerLite’s offerings, the Enterprise plan is built for businesses that are already well established and operating at scale–and, it goes without saying, aren’t constrained by tight budget limits.

With a dedicated success manager and hands-on deliverability consultation, this plan offers tailored onboarding, performance audits, and direct expert support. For security-conscious teams, MailerLite also supports GDPR requirements, holds ISO 27001 certification, and provides EU data storage – all of which come with every MailerLite plan.

MailerLite Hidden Fees & Extra Costs

One subtle pricing detail that works against MailerLite is how subscriber usage is counted after list cleanup. Even though MailerLite is generally transparent and avoids obvious add-ons or surprise fees, this is a practice many email marketers will recognize.

Delayed subscriber count reset

If you delete contacts from your listing, those subscribers don’t always stop affecting your billing immediately. MailerLite’s cumulative subscriber count is based on “unique subscribers used”, meaning contacts you’ve sent to recently can continue to count toward your monthly subscriber limit until your billing anniversary date.

In practical terms, this means cleaning your list won’t necessarily reduce your bill right away: you may still be charged at a higher tier until your billing anniversary date passes, even if your list size technically falls below the limit of your current plan. At least bounced contacts never count toward your bill – exactly how it should be.

What happens if you exceed your subscriber limit?

This works differently depending on your plan. On the Free plan, reaching your limit effectively puts the brakes on sending until you reduce your subscriber count or upgrade. On paid plans, MailerLite automatically moves you to the appropriate higher subscriber tier, meaning an unexpectedly fast-growing list can also mean an unexpectedly higher bill.

Live chat support

While not a sneaky extra in itself, it’s worth mentioning that 24/7 Live chat support is hidden behind the Power tier, which is MailerLite’s premium one. I opened tickets on both Comfort and Power plans and the median first response from MailerLite’s representative was 2 hours vs 20 minutes (Comfort vs. Power, respectively), which is pretty much a game-changer for teams needing quick fixes.

For teams running frequent campaigns or relying on email for revenue-critical sends, the need for live support can effectively push them into the advanced Power plan – even if they don’t otherwise need its extra features.

Pay-As-You-Go Plan (Cost per Email)

MailerLite does not currently offer a pay-as-you-go pricing option. If you need a transparent pay-as-you-go email marketing solution, consider Sender or other alternatives.

What MailerLite Doesn’t Include

MailerLite covers the core email marketing basics pretty well, but it’s worth knowing that not everything lives under the same roof. Transactional email and SMS marketing goes through MailerSend, while email verification is handled through MailerCheck.

MailerLite Transactional Email Pricing

If you need to send transactional emails–think password resets, order confirmations, shipping updates, or account notifications–you won’t be sending them directly through MailerLite.

Instead, the company handles transactional email through MailerSend, its separate transactional email service. That means another account, another pricing structure, and potentially another bill to keep track of.

MailerSend is built specifically for developer-driven and automated emails, with tools such as an email API, SMTP relay, templates, and email verification. This separation isn’t necessarily a downside if you need a dedicated transactional setup, but it does make MailerLite less of an all-in-one platform than competitors that bundle marketing and transactional emails together.

For smaller businesses only sending newsletters and promotional campaigns, this probably won’t matter. Ecommerce stores, SaaS companies, and apps sending large volumes of automated system emails, however, should factor MailerSend into their overall monthly cost.

MailerLite SMS Pricing & Costs

SMS is another feature that isn’t built directly into MailerLite itself. However, it is available through MailerSend

MailerSend’s Starter plan includes 100 SMS messages per month and Professional plan 150 messages/mo, along with access to its SMS API. Additional SMS usage is charged separately, and businesses can add phone numbers for an extra monthly fee. Currently, MailerSend’s transactional SMS service is available in the USA and Canada.

The upside is that you can manage both transactional email and SMS within MailerSend rather than relying on an unrelated third-party SMS provider. The downside is that it still sits outside your main MailerLite subscription, so you’ll need to factor MailerSend’s pricing into your overall costs.

So, if SMS or transactional email is central to your strategy, MailerLite can still cover those needs through MailerSend but you will need to pay for a separate plan.

MailerLite vs. Competitors: Which Costs Less?

MailerLite vs. Sender

Coming from the same budget-friendly email marketing category with similarly priced plans, this is a head-to-head comparison. While Sender undercuts MailerLite on every tier, the price difference becomes even more noticeable at larger list sizes.

For example, at 10,000 subscribers, MailerLite’s entry plan costs $89 per month, while Sender offers comparable coverage for $57 per month. At the end of the day, Sender is the cheaper one out of the two, even with MailerLite offering unlimited email sends and unlimited users in their higher-tier plan.

MailerLite vs. Mailchimp

Taking on one of the most recognized players in email marketing is no easy task. At first glance, Mailchimp becomes noticeably more expensive as subscriber lists grow, with MailerLite offering cheaper prices right from the get-go (MailerLite’s entry-level plan, however, is only $1/month shy of reaching Mailchimp Standard’s $13/month price tag).

That price gap becomes more evident as subscriber counts rise. At 2,500 contacts, for example, MailerLite’s Power plan costs just $4/month more than Mailchimp’s cheapest $45/month plan (while MailerLite’s cheapest plan sits at $33/mo) – despite offering a more feature-rich tier.

MailerLite focuses on simplicity and value–offering drag-and-drop builder, built-in marketing automations, and landing pages at a lower monthly cost. Mailchimp, on the other hand, leans more heavily into polished templates, branding tools, and a large ecosystem of integrations, but those benefits come with higher list-based pricing.

MailerLite vs. Brevo

MailerLite and Brevo Starter both target the affordable end of the market but use different pricing models. MailerLite charges by subscriber count with unlimited sends (Power plan), making costs predictable if you email frequently, while Brevo charges by email volume, which can be cheaper for large lists with low send frequency. In practice, MailerLite suits regular senders who want simple pricing, while Brevo works better when email volume is modest.

One caveat that slightly lowers Brevo’s standing compared to MailerLite is its hidden fees. For instance, if you’re just starting out with Brevo, you’ll need to fork out an additional $10.80/month if you want to get rid of their branding on emails.

Is MailerLite Worth the Price?

MailerLite is a strong choice for creators and small-to-mid-sized teams that want a clean, easy-to-use email marketing platform with solid automations, landing pages, and built-in forms – without paying premium prices.

Its pricing is pretty straightforward, and the MailerLite free plan doesn’t hide essential features behind a paywall, supporting up to 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails per month.

Of course, it’s entirely possible that it doesn’t check all the boxes you need. Budget-conscious newsletter senders may also want to compare MailerLite with EmailOctopus, while businesses needing more advanced automation should go with Sender or ActiveCampaign

Teams with large datasets or heavy reporting needs may eventually outgrow MailerLite’s simplicity as their marketing operations scale. In this case, HubSpot and Zoho Campaigns are great alternatives.

MailerLite Pricing FAQs

How much does MailerLite cost per month?

MailerLite’s monthly price varies by subscriber count and chosen plan. Paid plans start at $12 per month for small lists and increase as your subscriber count grows, with higher tiers unlocking advanced automation, analytics, and priority support; exact pricing depends on how many contacts you have and whether you’re paying for a monthly plan or an annual plan.

How does MailerLite count subscribers?

MailerLite counts subscribers based on the number of active subscribers in your account. Deleted contacts you’ve sent to recently can also continue to count toward your monthly subscriber limit until your billing anniversary date. Unsubscribed and bounced contacts, however, do not count toward your subscriber limit.

What happens if I exceed my plan limits?

If you exceed your plan limits on MailerLite, the system may either automatically upgrade you to the next appropriate plan at an adjusted price or restrict email sending until you adjust your subscription (depending on your plan).

Are there setup fees?

No, MailerLite does not charge any setup fees. You only pay the monthly subscription based on your subscriber count and chosen plan, with no additional one-time costs to get started.

Can I downgrade my plan?

Yes, you can downgrade your plan at any time from your MailerLite account settings. The downgrade takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle, and you’ll retain your current features until then.

Is MailerLite cheaper than Mailchimp?

Yes, MailerLite is cheaper than Mailchimp. MailerLite offers lower-priced plans than Mailchimp, especially for small businesses and growing email lists. Its free and paid tiers also tend to include more features at comparable subscriber levels, making it a budget-friendly option for email marketing.

How much does it cost to send 1,000 emails?

Sending 1,000 emails is free with MailerLite. The free plan includes up to 2,500 emails per month, so sending 1,000 emails won’t cost you anything as long as you stay within the plan’s limits.
